Keep the kids busy making these easy turkey place-card holders

As the smell of turkey fills the house, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade diverts attention away from food only for so long, and the phrase “When do we eat?” gets old really fast.

This Thanksgiving, have the kids make these fun place-card holders for your family and guests while you prepare the feast. With Life Savers, almonds and peanuts involved, it gives your little ones a little something to snack on while they make their creations, too.

They really add great decoration and personalization to your table.

Happy Thanksgiving, Lowcountry!

Materials

(for each turkey)

√ A set of googly eyes

√ Tacky/craft glue or a glue gun

√ 1 Almond

√ 1 Small apple

√ 1 Life Savers candy

√ Peanut (with shell) or two cashews

√ Paper napkin or paper towel

√ Small paper clipS

√ Colored paper or cardstock, cut into place-card size

Instructions

Glue the eyes to the almond, the Life Saver to the front top of the apple and the peanut or cashews below that; let dry.

Unfold napkin or paper towel sheet halfway, then fold back and forth accordion-style.

Put a paper clip in the center of the folded napkin.

Pull ends of folded napkin down together to make a fan and secure with a paper clip. Place the napkin behind the turkey.

Finally, unbend one end of a paper clip and insert it into the top of the apple to hold the place card.
