1. How do you juggle children, work and home?
Not to mention school: It's easy. When I feel I'm starting to slip, I just stick my foot out to catch it.
2. The mountains or the beach?
I'm from the Upstate, so definitely the mountains.
3. What is your favorite TV show?
"Gossip Girl." Don't judge. It's a good show.
4. How did you meet your spouse?
His step-father introduced us.
5. When is the house clean?
Honestly, my house is the cleanest right before expected guests come over.
6. What do you wish your child would do?
Sit still.
7. What do you wish you could do?
Lose weight. It has been the hardest thing I have ever tried to do.
8. What would surprise people about you?
One way or another, I plan to be famous one day.
9. What does summer mean for your family?
Since we have a long commute to work, we look forward to the lighter traffic. Since Jada is still young and there are always competing vacation requests at work, we really don't do much.
10. What do you have on your nightstand?
My accounting book and laptop.
11. What would you take from your childhood to give to your children's?
A relationship with my mother. She died when I was 17. Jada often asks about her.
12. Why might parenthood surprise someone?
I think parenthood shows a person how selfless they really can be. It shocked me.
13. What is your favorite indulgence?
My DVR.
14. What's the funniest thing your child has said?
She recently told me that she would be proud of me if I had a baby in my tummy.
15. What was your first job?
Pizza Hut.
16. What makes your children wonderful?
Jada is very thoughtful, kindhearted and insightful. Not as self-centered as you would expect a 3-year-old to be.
17. What makes your children not so wonderful?
She whines. It is the most irritating thing.
18. What should every parent have?
Patience and a packet of wipes.
19. How do you find "me" time?
My "me" time is when I'm driving in my car alone. I don't even have the radio on because I use the time to be with my thoughts.
20. What has life taught you?
If you hang in there, things will turn out better than you could have ever imagined.
