Mark your calendars for March 6, 2010, and register that beautiful child of yours for our annual Cover Kids event! Lowcountry Parent features local children on the cover of our magazine. We would like to invite you to register your child to participate in a photo shoot and have the chance to become one of our cover kids.

Our Cover Kids event is a day of fun, excitement and full of SMILES! Your child will have a scheduled time to have his or her photo taken. This photo will be placed in a portfolio for Lowcountry Parent to choose from each month for models for the cover and within the magazine.

NOTE: THE PREREGISTRATION DEADLINE HAS PASSED.

We are still taking walk ups, so if you want to participate, come to the Cover Kids Event and we will accommodate your child as soon as we can.

If already registered:

Please arrive on time for your child’s scheduled photo.

Choose a hairstyle and clothing that complement your child best for the test shot. This isn’t the cover shoot, we will call back throughout the year and schedule a photo shoot if your child is chosen.

WHERE: Tanger Outlets, 4840 Tanger Outlet Blvd. in North Charleston. Cover Kids will be located in Store No. 551 (next to Reebock/Rockport and across from Ann Taylor).

PARKING: Park and enter by Banana Republic and Reebock/Rockport.

Q: How do I get my child on the cover of Lowcountry Parent magazine?

A: Every year, Lowcountry Parent magazine holds a cover kids event. Those who attend the event are eligible for the cover photo of Lowcountry Parent magazine.

Q: What ages are eligible for the cover kids event?

A: We accept ages birth–13.

Q: When is the cover kids event?

Q: How do I enter?
A: Print out the registration form (or cut from magazine), fill it out and mail it along with a recent snapshot of your child and a $25 registration fee to Lowcountry Parent, 134 Columbus St., Charleston, SC 29403, ATTN: Cover Kids 2010. Entries must be postmarked by Feb 27, 2010.

Q: Are we required to register?

Q: I’ve sent in my registration form, fee and snapshot of my child, what do I do now?
A: You will be contacted via e-mail or phone and given a scheduled time and location to arrive for the test photo shoot. If you haven’t heard from us by March 1, please call 958-7390 or e-mail info@lowcountryparent.com. Be sure to check your e-mail account.

Q: What should my child wear?
A: You should dress your child in whatever color or style you think flatters him or her the best. This is a test shot to see how your child reacts in front to the camera. Please don’t worry! The cover kids event is always a fun time. Just tell your child to be himself or herself and smile!

Q: Do I get a copy of the photo taken at the cover kids event?
A: No. This photo is used for internal use only. This photo will be placed in a portfolio that Lowcountry Parent uses to find children to photograph for covers. This isn’t the actual cover shot. You will be contacted throughout the year as we schedule cover shoots with a professional photographer.
