Forty years ago Charleston resident, Dr. Neil Draisin, opened an optometric office dedicated to helping families in Charleston with all their eye care needs. In addition to providing families with all their eye care needs, Dr. Draisin has been an active member of the community.

While his practice started with one employee, Draisin Vision Group now is a proud employer of 20 staff and four doctors. Dr. Jennifer Smith became a partner a couple of years ago and shares the same commitment to excellence.

When Dr. Draisin opened his practice, one of his goals was to help children who were struggling in school because of undiagnosed vision problems. Doctors Smith and Draisin are the only developmental optometrists in the Charleston and surrounding areas who provide an in-office program of optometric vision therapy. This program has improved the lives of countless children and their families throughout our community.

Using state-of-the-art technology, they stress early detection and correction of eye diseases in addition to learning-and performance-related vision problems. Good vision is important for children of all ages. In fact, 80 percent of learning occurs through vision. Being able to see the letters on the eye chart (20/20) is just one of more than 15 visual skills critical to reading and learning.

At Draisin Vision Group, all doctors have special training and lots of experience working with children and testing all the visual skills required for learning.

To help celebrate 40 years of excellence, the Draisin Vision Group is offering an exclusive sale to thank everyone in Charleston for their support over the years, for details contact Draisin Vision Group at 843-556-2020.
